Culinary arts helps bind cultures together! Given that Canada is home to a huge diverse
immigrant population, it is not surprising that it is often referred to as the ‘melting pot’ of
cultures and quite literally of cuisines. The Unique Selling Point of this project was that we could combine live cooking demonstrations along with sharing stories (fables, folk tales) from around the world as well as hear personal anecdotes from participants. They also enjoyed visuals in the form of slide show and souvenirs on display and listen to lovely music from the countries of origin of our guest chefs from Democratic Republic of Congo, El Salvador and South Korea. These events were supported by The Burlington Arts and Culture Fund 2023.
