Crafting for Community Wellbeing

Creative Community Hive (CCH) is a not-for-profit arts community in Halton, Ontario, serving communities in the towns of Oakville, Burlington and online (via Zoom). Our unique and flexible format promotes social inclusion through small regenerative art hubs.

Our specially curated pop-up platform popularly referred to as The Hive, welcomes older adults, seniors and newcomers in our communities to meet and interact in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment, and indulge in creative activities together.

Pop-Up Community Art Studio: The Hive

Since November 2017, we have been hosting free, crafting sessions at various venues in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

We organized our first series of pop-ups at a popular Fair-Trade café in Bronte Village, Taste of Colombia. This was followed by sessions over 2018-2019 in partnership with the Town of Oakville at the Iroquois Ridge Community Centre. During the lockdowns, we, like others, adapted our program to be available online. We conducted virtual sessions over May-June 2020 with Oakville Public Library. Since fall 2020, we have been hosting weekly sessions, especially customized for participants of Community Living Mississauga.

We encourage artists and crafters in our community to join us anytime!
