Crafting for Community Wellbeing
Creative Community Hive (CCH) is a not-for-profit arts platform, serving communities in the towns of Burlington, Oakville, Milton in Halton region, Ontario.
Our specially curated pop-up sessions popularly referred to as The Hive, welcomes older adults and seniors to use creative tools to connect with fellow community members in a safe, relaxed, supportive and non-judgmental environment.
Pop-Up Community Art Studio: The Hive
Our journey began in 2017 , hosting our first series of pop-ups at a popular fair trade cafe, Taste of Colombia in Bronte Village, Oakville. This was followed by sessions over 2018-2019 in partnership with the Town of Oakville at the Iroquois Ridge Community Centre. During the lockdowns, we, like others, adapted our program to be available online. We conducted virtual sessions over May-June 2020 with Oakville Public Library. Since fall 2020, we have been hosting weekly sessions, especially customized for participants of Community Living Mississauga.
We encourage artists and crafters in our community to join us anytime!
